65 Laps at Wiscasset Speedway Net Another Top 10 for Coy Racing

The team headed back to Wiscasset Speedway this past Saturday. It was a NEMA Lites only and it was the big 65 lap race! The team unloaded and the car was decent, in fact the car was decent all day. Richie started 3rd in his heat race. He quickly jumped out to the lead and lead the first couple of laps. He was passed around halfway, but would come home 2nd. Coy Racing Captures 1st Midget Win!

The guys loaded up this past Saturday and headed to New-London Waterford Speedbowl for the 3rd and final time this year. Fresh off their latest top 5 at Monadnock, the guys were pumped and ready to duplicate that top 5 again. The car unloaded pretty quick and Richie was just outside the top 5 on the speed charts in both practices. Handicapping put Richie starting on the outside pole in his heat race. It’s been a while since our last update. We’ve had two trips to Waterford, a trip to Star and a debut at Monadnock in that time. Coy Racing snags first Top 5 of the Season

The guys had a 6.5 hour ride to Speedway 51 this past weekend, so they left on Friday night. They drove about 4 hours and stayed in Springfield, VT. This left them 2.5 hours on Saturday morning. In true racer fashion, they left at 9 am to head to the track. The gates opened at 2 pm, so they got there a bit early and were the first hauler in line. Coy Racing Snags Another Finish in NEMA Lite Division

This past Saturday, the Coy Racing team headed back to Seekonk Speedway for a Lites only race. The team was expecting a fight with the weather, but it turned out to be an awesome day for racing. The #19 Mach-1 Performance midget unloaded and performed all day. It was the first race all season that the car started, ran and came back to the pits with no mechanical issues for all sessions! Top Ten Caps Up and Down Day at Star

The guys loaded up and headed to Star Speedway this past Saturday. It was round 8 for the NEMA Lite series. After a week and half off and a lot of changes, the team was ready to have a good night and they did, sort of! Laps lead and another DNF for Coy Racing at Seekonk

The team loaded up and headed to Seekonk Speedway this past Wednesday for the 21st Annual Boston Louie Memorial Race and the Dave Steel Tribute Race. The day brought ups and downs again for the #19 Mach-1 Performance Midget. Richie took to the track in practice and it was the fastest the car has been all season in the first two rounds. The Tale of Two Races

The team hit two tracks this past week…Thompson Speedway on Wednesday and Star Speedway on Saturday. With the run the team had at Riverhead Raceway, last time out and all the changes that came from it, the team headed to Thompson Speedway with high hopes. Coy Racing finally takes a checkered flag in 2017!

It’s been a struggle so far for the Coy Racing team in 2017. The transition to the Midget class has been an uphill struggle. While Saturday was another day of struggles, Richie took the first feature checkered flag of the season! The day started off with the final piece of the new power steering being delivered Saturday morning at 9:45am. The team wanted to leave for the track at 10am! Star and Wiscasset Speedway update

The 2017 racing season is 3 races in for Coy Racing. After Thompson Speedway, the guys traveled to Star Speedway for race #2 on May 13th. The day did not go well as Richie only got 3 laps in competition during the event, due to motor issues. The guys had a quick turn around to go to Wiscasset Speedway this past Saturday. A couple weeks ago NEMA took the action to Star Speedway for the Marvin Rifchin Memorial Race. In the NEMA series Jim Chambers took home the checkers, and Avery Stoehr in the Lites.
