The loaded up and headed to New Hampshire’s Star Speedway on Saturday July 21st. The team picked up right where they left off the last time at Star – Fast! Once again Richie was fast in practice. The heat race had Richie finish 4th, which put him in the handicap.
Richie started 4th in the feature and worked his way up to 2nd by just before halfway. The race went green all the way until the white flag. Drama built in the race, as the leader had been blacked flagged during the race and did not head it. He was no longer being scored, so he exited the track at the yellow flag. This put Richie in the lead on the green white checkered restart. Unfortunately, the car had started to skip with a fuel pick up problem the last several laps and on the restart, Richie couldn’t hold 2nd and 3rd place guys back. He was able to hold on and score his 2nd top 3 in 3 races!
